Project 42’s Capacity Groups
Here is a list of some of the “capacity groups” that we have either helped launch and/or are working with:
League of Our Own Washington is dedicated to recruiting and training women to run for public office. Since League's founding just three years ago, over 50 of their candidates have won their races and now hold public office. With more than 250 women in their program (Prospects) who are thinking about running in the future, the bench of conservative women leaders has never been deeper!
Developed after Major League Baseball’s recruiting and training model, League has more than 200 Scouts, Coaches, and Fans who are actively working to provide these women with the tools, resources, and training they need to be successful candidates and effective leaders. League is growing every single day and is already changing the status quo in Washington State politics.
Full Court Press was formed to bring balance to our state’s judicial system by recruiting, and training candidates for judicial offices in Washington state. We identify and train judicial candidates who are committed to applying the law with a facts-based approach that is founded upon long-standing legal principles and independent of political ideology.
The Franklin News Foundation is developing a robust statewide operation via The Center Square to ensure that stories in the news tell the taxpayers’ point of view in an AP style reporting - which is already being picked up by state and national outlets. Their Washington State bureau opened in Fall 2021. Sign up for their Washington state-specific news stories via their website.
Change Washington is a strategic communications organization focused on bringing a business perspective and common sense to state and local policy and political issues and encouraging citizens and business owners to get involved.
Citizen Action Defense Fund is a “watchdog” for all Washingtonians, helping to ensure that state and local governments play by the rules and that the public’s constitutional rights are protected. We achieve these goals by supporting and pursuing strategic, high-impact litigation in cases where we have an opportunity to advance free markets, restrain government overreach or defend constitutional rights.
Citizen Action Defense Fund is guided by the expertise of over a dozen highly-experienced attorneys practicing throughout Washington.
Washington Policy Center (WPC) is an independent, non-profit think tank dedicated to improving lives through free-market policy solutions. WPC focuses on eight core areas of public policy: Education, Environment, Government Reform, Health Care, Small Business, Transportation, Worker Rights and Agriculture. Research and analysis from WPC's policy directors is provided free to lawmakers, media and the public. WPC also serves as an advocate for government transparency and accountability. Additionally, WPC operates a Young Professionals program aimed at educating younger generations about free-market principles.
It’s time to change the course of Washington state to prioritize policies that will allow our citizens, entrepreneurs and businesses to thrive and prosper. Our vision is to make America’s 42nd state the envy of the country – a place where citizens have opportunities to fulfill their dreams and where businesses are encouraged to innovate and expand.
By turning frustration into action, we will build a diverse and engaged community of Washingtonians to fuel a wave of empowerment. This engaged community will work together to create a safe and livable state, help ensure a more affordable cost of living, lower our taxes, and provide an environment for our citizens and business to thrive.
Future 42’s Snohomish and Whatcom County projects are dedicated to bringing balance to local governments and engaging voters on key local issues ranging from taxes and the economy to public safety and homelessness. This work is done by tracking local council meetings and fostering citizen engagement through action alerts and other relevant communications. In addition, these county projects help to recruit and train candidates for local office and provide a one-stop shop for citizens and businesses to collaborate, communicate, and come together around shared issues and goals. Both the Snohomish and Whatcom County projects host regular events to highlight important local issues for community members, elected officials, and business leaders.
